About Us

Yes, there really is a Miss Josie!

Miss Josie age 24 in 1949

Miss Josie is the matriarch of our family; she is in her 90s and is very active in the business. If she is not working at the store with customers, she is home working on merchandise for the shop and calling to check that her customers are happy!

At 90, Miss Josie is an ironing champ and the more detailed and intricate the linens are, the happier she is! The linen section our our store is her pride and joy, and no one can believe the beautiful ironing she does. Miss Josie still comes into the shop from time to time to make sure we are doing everything up to her standards, but she is happier at home ironing and it's not unheard of for her to iron up to 8 hours a day when she is not playing with her great-grand-kids. She may be 88 years old but she hasn't slowed down!

Alan and James handle the day to day operations of the shop, Alan has over 30 years experience in the vintage/textile field. James has over 30 years of experience in the antique/collectible field, specializing in glassware and china, and for the past 20 years also specializing in the vintage/textile field while continuing with glassware and china.

Historical Note

Miss Josie's is your destination, resplendent in the beautiful treasures of eras gone by.

Miss Josie's Vintage and Antiques is located in the heart of beautiful historic Kenmore, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. Our building was constructed in the 1920s and is filled with all the charm of yesteryear! Many local residents will remember that our building was the home of Donovan's Drug Store. We are lucky enough to have some of the original fixtures and even the original tin ceiling. We have had several of their former employees come through and relive the glory days of Kenmore!

Recently, the building was going to be torn down and Miss Josie's couldn't bear to see that happen - so we did what we thought would best protect this corner of history: buy the building! With some interior renovations and a splash of new color, we are settling in for decades more fashion and fun, so come see us today, tomorrow, and for years to come!

Miss Josie's is 2,500 square feet of all things vintage!
